Model 2 made of foam core and paper

In this 1:12 model, I put the slots element in for the first time because I think this would cast a great shadow to the model and I also involved more folding technics to this model to make the whole room more abstract such as the walls and the roof as well. Besides, I made a cabinet with a mirror paper stuck to one of the faces so that the light would reflect in my original thought but it doesn't work at the end as the mirror paper is not reflective enough.

100 words statement

From the first model to the last one, my direction went from making a real living space to exploring the limit and edge between the abstract and functional aspects of the room model. For the abstract direction, I tried to make the outside shape more abstract by folding papers at first and by cutting and sticking the foam-core and balsa wood in the later stage.  For the functional direction, I put many different furniture in the room during the process in different models like beds, desks, bookshelves, and etc. Besides, the light study is also a major factor that I took consideration in my design and model making.  Opening up one side, cutting slots, and using plastic paper are ways I took to let the lights come in. 3D Fusion 360 Initials model

M-view Y-view Top-view I chose this reflective red metal to represent my passion but also determination in this new uni life. I want to be as tough and relentless as metal and also shining and passionate. I add a glass material on top of the model to show that remind me of not forgetting what's inside my heart and what's my original dream.

Model focusing on interior (functional)

Overall view View from outside the left side big window Television Art on the wall Bookshelf with books Stairs Light 1 Light 2 Light 3 As I set the two directions, which are functionality and abstract (or outside and inside) in model 4, in this 1:24 model, I focus more on the inside and the functionality. I made this loft kind of room and I tried to create a modern and industrial mood to the room. I chose wood pattern paper and black card to set the colour and texture tone. I made a large window using plastic so the light could fully come in and make the room warm and high-class at the same time. Also, I added bookshelf (plus the two books made with paper on the shelf), stairs, and TV to make the space more realistic, functional and more home feeling. Last but not least, I put artwork on the wall to add more aesthetic feeling to it so that it can be liked by younger people in marketing.
